The whānau at Te Reo Irirangi o Whanganui, Awa FM, are looking for a passionate and proven leader to step into the role of Kaiwhakahaere, General Manager – guiding the future of our station, our reo and our people.
For more than 34 years Awa FM has been the voice of our iwi and community – a platform that uplifts te reo Maori, tikanga and stories of Whanganui. From humble beginnings as a radio station, we have grown into a multimedia hub – and now looking for someone who can help us continue to grow, innovate and thrive in a changing world.
As kaiwhakahaere you will:
– Provide strong leadership, vision, and direction aligned to Te Rautaki o Te Reo o Whanganui
– Manage our talented and passionate team already skilled in radio and multimedia
– Bring fresh ideas, proven management skills and a commitment to whanau iwi and reo
This is more than a management role – it’s an opportunity to make a real impact in our community to protect and grow our reo and to lead Awa FM into the future.
