Te Whare Haka on Awa is a new mid-morning show created to carry the energy of breakfast into the working day, while giving listeners something engaging, familiar and easy to sit with from 10am–12pm. Centred around all things kapa haka, the show will explore the people, stories, whakaaro, hot takes and kaupapa happening both on and off the stage, keeping te ao haka present in everyday conversation rather than only during competition season.
With Te Whare Haka o Te Kāhui Maunga at its heart, the show will bring a strong local flavour through familiar voices and experiences while still connecting with the wider haka community. It is designed to work just as well in the background at mahi, on the road or in our kura Māori classrooms — energetic enough to keep the brain active, but whānau-friendly, relatable and accessible enough for people to tune in and out of throughout their morning.
