Official Terms and Conditions
1. Eligibility
Entrants must be aged 16 years or older. Entrants under 18 years of age must have consent from a parent or legal guardian to participate and accept the prize.
2. How to Enter
Call 0800 AWA 100 during the scheduled competition times: 8am with Rongo or 3pm with Te Waiata, Monday to Friday, and get through on air throughout the competition period.
3. How to Qualify
Each Showdown consists of exactly five questions. The contestant and Awa FM host must buzz in by calling out their name to answer each question. The first person to buzz in gets the opportunity to answer. If their answer is incorrect, the question is awarded to the opposing player, who receives the point. The contestant must win more questions than the Awa FM host out of the five questions to qualify for the final prize draw.
4. One Successful Entry Per Person
Each person may qualify for the final prize draw only once. If a contestant successfully beats a host and qualifies for the draw, they cannot qualify again during this competition.
5. Competition Dates
The competition begins at 8am on Tuesday 27 October 2026. Entries are accepted during scheduled weekday Showdowns until the final draw on Friday 6 November 2026.
6. The Prize
One winner will receive a double pass consisting of two tickets to Stan Walker: A Symphonic Experience in Wellington on Friday 20 November 2026.
7. Travel and Accommodation
The prize includes concert tickets only. Travel to and from Wellington, accommodation, meals and any other associated expenses are the sole responsibility of the winner and their guest.
8. Non-Transferable Prize
The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or other goods and must not be resold.
9. Winner Selection and Contact
All eligible contestants who successfully qualify through the 5 Question Showdown will be entered into a prize draw. One winner will be drawn live on Awa FM on Friday 6th of November 2026.
Successful contestants must provide their contact phone number and email address to Awa FM after qualifying for the draw. The selected winner must respond within 48 hours of being contacted by Awa FM to confirm acceptance of the prize and arrange collection or delivery of the tickets.
If the selected winner cannot be contacted, fails to respond within 48 hours, or is unable to accept the prize, Awa FM reserves the right to redraw the prize and select another winner.
10. Publicity
By accepting the prize, the winner agrees that Awa FM may announce their name on air and publish their name on Awa FM’s social media platforms. They may also be contacted for an interview and photo if the contestant agrees.
11. General Conditions
Awa FM reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the competition if circumstances beyond its reasonable control require it.
12. Competition Organiser
This competition is organised by Te Reo Irirangi o Whanganui Trust, operating as Awa FM.
